What is the Career Like?

EKG technicians attach electrodes from an EKG machine to a patient and print out an EKG for review by the physician. Your test can be used to diagnose heart problems or determine if a patient is suitable for surgery. Other responsibilities can include scheduling appointments, explaining test procedures to patients, taking medical histories and maintaining testing equipment.

Certifications

Upon completion of the program you’ll be certified in the following:

Certified EKG Technician (CET)

This certification can be issued by the National Healthcare Association (NHA), Medical Career Assessment (MedCA)or American Medical Certification Association (AMCA).
