Program Length: 40 hours

Requirements: High Diploma or Equivalent

Personal Care Aides assist those who need help performing day to day activities. These can be patients who suffer from physical or mental disabilities. Personal Care Aides may work out a patient’s home, residential or care facility. Most common task include routine cleaning, cooking, housekeeping chores and personal hygiene assistance. In some cases, you may even have to provide transportation to and from appointments and run other errands.

How Do PCAs Help?

You are important! Patient Care Aides keep detailed medical records and report any significant changes in a patient’s condition. They work under a licensed nurse. At times, PCAs are asked to perform basic healthcare related procedures. The projected growth for a Patient Care Aide is 26% between 2014-2024
